Product Details

The building at 239 Arch Street, now known as the Betsy Ross House, was built over 250 years ago. The front portion was built around 1740, with the stair hall and the rear section added 10 to 20 years later.

Betsy would often tell her family about the day George Washington, Robert Morris, and Geroge Ross walked through the door of her busy upholstery shop. In the privacy of the back parlor, the men disclosed the reason for their visit - they wanted Betsy to make a flag for the United States. Betsy explained that she had never made a flag, but she would be willing to try. One year later, on June 14, 1777, Congress adopted the "Stars & Stripes" as the official flag of the United States.

This is a beautiful metal painted ornament measuring 2.5" x 2".
